5) STAINLESS STEEL MIRRORS -
-
These mirrors have the 304 Polished Stainless Steel convex mirror lens.
The mirror lens can be used anywhere. There is an Inside version with the Hardboard back and an Outside version,
which has a Stainless Steel Back. The Inside, or indoor, models have a single centered wall mount where the 26" and larger
Outside Use mirrors have the double mount configuration. (Click on the Illustrations on the bottom of the page
for a view of the mounting. Stainless Steel can not be broken and will withstand scratching better than the acrylic
mirrors. The reflective finish looks the same as the Acrylic or Glass. The mirror will, with enough force,
dent. All the mirrors have the protective rim around the mirror.
The options a person would consider are: 1)SIZE - Estimate how far from the mirror you will be when you are looking at it.
Use the rule-of-thumb of 1" diameter for each foot you are from the mirror. For 26" and larger the "Grey Area" is
around plus or minus 1/2 the diameter of the mirror times 1 foot. 2)Mounting - The inside use hardboard backed
and the 14" and 20" Stainless Steel backed mirrors have the single centered mount. These are the easiest to
install on flat walls, wooden posts, trees, etc. The Stainless Steel Backed mirrors from 26" and larger, have
two(2) swivel mounts and are supported with two extension arms. TIP: Go to the bottom this page and click on the
Illustrations showing mounting configurations for a better understanding of the double mount mirrors. The extension
arms on the Double Mount mirrors are ideal for attaching to an over-hang, standing up from the top of a wall or
extending out perpendicular to a wall. 3) Backing - The indoor use mirror has the standard brown hardboard back
The Outdoor mirror has a Stainless Steel back.
